Bites of History with Irene Walton

Butter (The Great Coastal Debate!)

Episode Summary

Ever noticed how butter is long and skinny on the East Coast and short and chunky on the West Coast? Well, it is, and here's why.

Episode Notes

This week I take you through the history of butter and teach you more than you ever thought you would want to know. All in a quick 14 minutes! Fascinated by the different shapes of butter on each coast - I knew I needed to dive in and read a 52-page paper written in 1948 called 'Princely Packets of Golden Health'. I learned so much that I just had to share.
